DIM – The best cancer treatment?
DIM has only recently been discovered by researchers to be one of the largest contributing compounds to the prevention of cancer as well as other viral and bacteria-related diseases. And one must thank Nature for creating plants under the Brassica family that is the source for this important nutrient.
For a long time though, experts in the medical community have suggested that vegetables such as cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli are excellent sources and an integral part of the cancer prevention diet. However, it doesn’t stop there as there is more than meets the eye as to the benefits of this compounds that works in conjunction with other compounds.
Scientists have discovered that DIM also works as a natural immune booster along with two other compounds such as Sulforaphane and Selenium, and that has recently been released in the form of a dietary supplement.
While scientists feel that their search for a cure for cancer is still underway, promising results have been shown by the reduction of both breast and prostate cancer in eating vegetables of the Brassica family, thus giving these benefits the catchphrase ‘Brassica effect’. Also, these compounds are being undergoing clinical trials and tests for viral and bacteria-related diseases as well.
One way or another, as scientists begin to uncover the benefits of this compound, we can be sure that the long years of waiting for a cure for cancer will be over.
