Sasha Bakhru is definitely a scientist to take note of.  His work is extremely important to science and biomedicine.  For starters, Sasha Bakhru works as an adjunct assistant professor of medical science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.  He also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship there.

Bakhru has an impressive educational background.  He received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University, an M.S.E. from John Hopkins University in Materials Science and a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in Biomedical Engineering.  He has achieved many educational accomplishments such as winning the 2008 Global MOOT Corp competition.  In 2009, he was rewarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award from the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business.

Sasha Bakhru’s works are making strides in the science and medical communities.  He has co-authored over twenty publications, eight patents, and even a chapter in a book.  His work has also been published in over forty conference proceedings and abstracts.

Bakhru serves as the Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, and the Co-Founder of Perosphere Inc.  Perosphere Inc. is working on revolutionizing the way that drug delivery technology works.  They specialize in pharmaceuticals and what is commonly called “rescue” drugs.  This company has over thirty patents to back up their work and ten that are currently pending.

Bakhru has made significant contributions to the field of stem cell research.  His research on lab rats has allowed for the science and medical communities to gain insight into the use of stem cell therapy.  Stem cell therapy is one of the most crucial areas of biomedicine today.
